Permission Marketing : Turning Strangers Into Friends And Friends Into Customers

Permission Marketing : Turning Strangers Into Friends And Friends Into Customers

The man Business Week calls "the ultimate entrepreneur for the Information Age" explains "Permission Marketing" -- the groundbreaking concept that enables marketers to shape their message so that consumers will willingly accept it.

Whether it is the TV commercial that breaks into our favorite program, or the telemarketing phone call that disrupts a family dinner, traditional advertising is based on the hope of snatching our attention away from whatever we are doing. Seth Godin calls this Interruption Marketing, and, as companies are discovering, it no longer works.

Instead of annoying potential customers by interrupting their most coveted commodity -- time -- Permission Marketing offers consumers incentives to accept advertising voluntarily. Now this Internet pioneer introduces a fundamentally different way of thinking about advertising products and services. By reaching out only to those individuals who have signaled an interest in learning more about a product, Permission Marketing enables companies to develop long-term relationships with customers, create trust, build brand awareness -- and greatly improve the chances of making a sale.

In his groundbreaking book, Godin describes the four tests of Permission Marketing:

1. Does every single marketing effort you create encourage a learning relationship with your customers? Does it invite customers to "raise their hands" and start communicating?

2. Do you have a permission database? Do you track the number of people who have given you permission to communicate with them?

3. If consumers gave you permission to talk to them, would you have anything to say? Have you developed a marketing curriculum to teach people about your products?

4. Once people become customers, do you work to deepen your permission to communicate with those people?

And in numerous informative case studies, including American Airlines' frequent-flier program, Amazon.com, and Yahoo!, Godin demonstrates how marketers are already profiting from this key new approach in all forms of media.Seth Godin, one of the world's foremost online promoters, offers his best advice for advertising in Permission Marketing. Godin argues that businesses can no longer rely solely on traditional forms of "interruption advertising" in magazines, mailings, or radio and television commercials. He writes that today consumers are bombarded by marketing messages almost everywhere they go. If you want to grab someone's attention, you first need to get his or her permission with some kind of bait--a free sample, a big discount, a contest, an 800 number, or even just an opinion survey. Once a customer volunteers his or her time, you're on your way to establishing a long-term relationship and making a sale. "By talking only to volunteers, Permission Marketing guarantees that consumers pay more attention to the marketing message," he writes. "It serves both customers and marketers in a symbiotic exchange."

Godin knows his stuff. He created Internet marketer Yoyodyne and sold it in 1998 to Yahoo!, where he is a vice president. Godin delves into the strategies of several companies that successfully practice permission marketing, including Amazon.com, American Airlines, Bell Atlantic, and American Express. Permission marketing works best on the Internet, he writes, because the medium eliminates costs such as envelopes, printing, and stamps. Instead of advertising with a plain banner ad on the Internet, you should focus on discovering the customer's problem and getting permission to follow up with e-mail, he writes. Permission Marketing is an important and valuable book for businesses seeking better results from their advertising. --Dan Ring

Practice forex trading online

The forex market is one of those things that sounds fantastic when you hear about it, but if you don’t approach it properly you can quickly become disillusioned. This is a shame, because it really is one of those things whereby you get out of it what you put in. People who hear a little about the market and decide that there is some easy money to be made normally come out the other end a lot worse off, but those who treat the market with the respect it deserves and learn as much as they can about it tend to do well.

These days the forex is big business, which is why you wqill find so many sites on the internet devoted to finding out more about it,. And this is exactly what you should be doing if you are a bit of a novice.

Try going online and finding a few sites that can give you some fresh information about the forex. Ideally you want to know all about the history of it, and what is happening at the moment. Eventually, through all of this rewarding you will be getting up to speed with the market. It is at this stage that some people make the mistake of throwing their money at the market. This is just not prudent because these people have no experience yet. The best thing to do is to find a website which allows you to try out forex online so that you can be sure that you are ready for the real thing.

The Old Rules of Marketing are Dead: 6 New Rules to Reinvent Your Brand and Reignite Your Business

The New York Times and USA Today Bestseller!

Reinvent your marketing to keep up with an ever-changing marketplace

“A must-read for any business leader or marketer. It explains how brands must be true to their essence and be reinvented to remain relevant in this radically changed, information-rich, and Internet-oriented world.”
—Robert Hanson, President, Global Levi’s® Brand, Levis Strauss & Co.

“Pearson makes the clearest statement yet about the new world of marketing, as he makes the difficult and complex concepts of brands and reinvention understandable to everyone.”
—Bob Jeffrey, CEO, JWT

“When it comes to global brands, Pearson has no peers. His understanding of how companies and enterprises that breakaway from their competitors and reinvent their businesses will inherit the next era of global commerce is revolutionary.”
—Michel Recalt, Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton

The Old Rules of Marketing are Dead presents a new reality: marketing must be reinvented if it is to remain relevant by placing a premium on business acumen, strategy and communications.”
—MaryLee Sachs, Chairman U.S., Hill & Knowlton

“Pearson has distilled 27 years of business experience into a book that shows the old ways of marketing have been replaced by new more up-to-date approaches and concepts to reinvent businesses and brands—and drive profitable sales.”
—Stephen G. Butler, retired Chairman / CEO, KPMG International / KPMG LLP

“Tim Pearson’s name is synonymous with strategy, value-proposition development, and marketing. From now on, it will be synonymous with reinvention and the new ‘do or die’ rules of business.”
—Mark A. Emkes, retired Chairman, CEO and President, Bridgestone Americas

“Every leader and company director must learn the fundamental rules and principles of reinvention that will bring marketing into the 21st century. Reinvention must be the byword for this post-Great Recession era and the changes it requires that will make companies and businesses of all sizes great.”
—R. David Hoover, Chairman, President and CEO, Ball Corporation

About the Book:

Revolutionary new technologies developed over the past decade have completely changed the way humans communicate and transact business. Not exactly late-breaking news for most people of the world . . . except for those who are supposed to be marketing to them. While consumers, customers, and marketplaces have adapted to these new realities, most marketers have not.

Renowned marketing expert Tim Pearson explains why you need to sever your ties to the comfortable old ways of marketing—and bring your company’s marketing into the twenty-first century.

Too many marketers still operate as if strategy necessarily depends upon predetermined budgets; advertising is the catch-all to every problem; and marketing results can’t be measured. It all adds up to the age-old belief that marketing is an art, not a science—which couldn’t be further from the truth.

The Old Rules of Marketing Are Dead is a road map for breaking out of old, established—and increasingly ineffective—routines and reinventing your organization’s marketing by:

  • Positioning marketing as a business partner—not as a tool for meeting a strategic objective
  • Holding marketing accountable for results with the application of hard data— not vague qualitative measurements
  • Providing leadership within your organization—not following the direction of everyone else

From research frameworks and concept development to planning, budgeting, media placement, and program implementation, marketers have not kept up—to the detriment of themselves and their companies. Completely revamping old-school marketing is the only way to drive profitable sales, create growing brands, and increase market share in today’s post–Great Recession business landscape.

Pearson calls for nothing short of a marketing revolution. You must throw out almost everything you hold dear and embrace technology, a new role in business, and real accountability. The Old Rules of Marketing Are Dead has what you need to reinvent your products, your services—and your future.

Get the Benefits of a Call Centre

In a business it is important to get all the benefits from all the possible parts of the deal. On the other hand sometimes, many companies do not have the proper means to sustain certain affairs that will work in their own interest. Even if they know the importance of certain services offered to the clients, they simply do not have the resources to set up such a luxury.

But now the luxury of a call centre for better taking care of the clients is no longer the privilege of a chosen few. Every company no matter how large or small may benefit from the wonderful outcomes of call centre outsourcing. This new trend in the playground of business seems to take more and more place once the companies realize that they have to externalise some of their services for a better handling of the job. In this respect all the benefits of a personal call centre are gathered by using the outsourcing method.

The clients will certainly be content that they have an easier way to contact your company with either a suggestion or why not a complaint. On the other hand the personnel working at these call centres have to be well trained by the contracting company as to be aware of all changes and to respond to the clients in the most efficient way.

JG Wentworth Reviews: Structured Reviews for the Structured Settlements

Financially speaking, there will come a time where there is an emergency or a situation that will require the use of money. Whether it may be for a reason of medical or educational cases, there will be no more time to wait for the next batch of potential income. Structured settlement are considered as future profits of a person gained from an agreement arising from accidents or any monetary processes that have the approval of the court of law. JG Wentworth Reviews indicates that it is a high standing company that declares assets to the loans of over $2 billion.

These structured settlement bonds are considered to be somewhat similar to bonds that are released to an individual. Arrangements such as these are those that will come from the medical situations, and it will be approved by the court of law. For the JG Wentworth Reviews, it has spawned positive remarks because of the speed and ease by way the funds will be released to the applicants. The concept of the purchase of the funds will be quite simple. A person with future payments from the settlements will be able to receive the cash in advance. Thereby, it will be assigning the company as the firm that will be receiving the said funds.

On the part of the seller of the settlements, the person will gain benefits as they now have the funds they can use for other purposes. This means capital for the business ventures, the possible payments for the tuition, and perhaps for medical uses and purposes. Most of the time, it will be that benefit that will encourage people to cash in their potential future payments in advance. Thus, the online JG Wentworth Reviews appraise the way the funds will be given to the people with ease. JG Wentworth is considered as a vital installation in the overall craft of the legislations that standardized the structured settlement purchases.

Typical steps to the overall application of the funds include the first day contact where interview takes place. The next steps would be the submission of documents to be used in the application, and if it will be a hard process, then the company will provide assistance. Applicant to the funds will then review the options stated by JG Wentworth and if decided on the stipulations, a contract will be drafted and sent to the applicant for signing. Paperwork will be sent to the courts for approval. JG Wentworth Reviews ensure all legality to the products they offer.

cups and mugs – classic promo tools

While advertising is crucial to create a brand name, it is essential to do it the right way. Before deciding on the mode of advertisement it is important to take a few things into consideration like your advertising budget, your targeted audience etc. An extremely innovative and economical method for branding comes in the form of advertising through the aid of cups and mugs. It is creative, effective and inexpensive.

For companies with a low budget hoping to reach out to the common man, advertising through customized cups and mugs is a viable option. They are great as promotional products, catchy and vibrant. They can be given out as corporate gifts to clients and employees in the form of a memento. Since these products also have intrinsic utility they can be used as an incentive, being distributed in different trade shows, fundraising events etc to the interested customers. Having the company logo and details imprinted on it would help in bringing the required attention to the company. The great thing about mugs/cups is that they can be made in a variety of designs and colors. Companies thus have the option to select the mugs/cups according to their budget. For example slightly high budget companies can use porcelain while low budget companies can use plastic etc. There are tumblers, travel cups, sports bottle, coffee mugs etc. which cater out to a wide range of audience. For example while sports bottles will be popular amongst the youths, coffee mugs can reach out to every age and kind.

While TV advertisements are brought in and forgotten also being extremely expensive at the same time, this method stays with people as a souvenir and a constant reminder. This makes it a great success for bringing out a boost up in sales.
